Leslie Stein ||   

Leslie Stein was born in Evanston IL in 1982. She moved to San Fransciso at age 18 to attend the San Francisco Art Institute and later transfered to the School of Visual Arts (NY), where she finished her degree and upon graduating was presented with an award for "Outstanding Acheivement in Cartooning." She won a Xeric grant to Publish "Yeah, It Is!" (which also earned her a Harvey Kurtzman nomination for "Best New Talent" in 2004). She is now working on a black and white series called "Eye of the Majestic Creature" and the completion of a graphic novel called "Baghead" which she makes out of construction paper and watercolor inks. Leslie Also plays guitar and sings in a band called The Woods and manages a women's clothing boutique in the East Village.
